Quarks – quiz competition 

Exciting News, Physics Enthusiasts! Join us for the Physics Society’s Annual Fest Quiz – “Coherence”!  Unleash your quantum knowledge, explore celestial wonders, and revel in the elegance of classical physics. Are you ready to dive into theoretical realms and embark on an experimental odyssey? Round up your squad, tag your physics pals, and get set for a mind-bending journey through the fascinating world of physics!


Registration fees:- ₹45 per individual

Last date to registration:- 23th February 2026

Rules and guidelines

  •  1. All teams are expected to report on 23rd February 2026, by 12:00 PM. Please ensure to follow the timeline strictly. Latecomers will not allowed to enter. 

     2. Please Carry your College ID card.

     3. Participation shall be done in teams of 2. A single question paper would be given to one team. 

     4. The Round Structure is as follows: 
    •  Preliminary Round (Prelima Round): 12:30PM-1:00PM. The top 7 teams from this round will qualify for Round 2
    • Round 1 Result Declaration: 1:30 PM .
    •  Round 2 (Slide-based Round) : 2:00 PM 
     5. In Round 2:
    • This round will have 5 sub-rounds.
    • In each sub-round, one question will be asked to each participant, one at a time.
    • If a team skips a question or fails to answer within the given time limit, the question will NOT be passed to the next team.
    • Each correct answer carries 1 mark; no negative marking for wrong or unattempted questions.
    • At the end of all 5 rounds, the participant with the highest total points will be declared the winner.
    6. Tie-Breaker Rule:
    • If there is a tie for 1st, 2nd or 3rd position, a tie breaker round with three questions will be conducted for that position.
    7. During the final round (Round 2) we will have audience questions as well. Few lucky teams will get goodies during these audience rounds!

    8. All teams are expected to stay for the entire duration of the competition, Participation certificates shall be distributed at the end of the event. Prize distribution shall also take place at the end of the event.

    9. Tentatively, the entire event is expected to finish by 4 PM.

    10. The quiz's themes are the same as previously communicated.

Rules and guideline :

  • Originality: The reel must be original and not plagiarized.
  • Length: The reel must be of specific length, such as between 30–90 seconds.
  • Language: The reel should be in a specific language, such as English, Hindi.
  • Theme: The reel must be about a specific theme.
  • Content: The reel must not contain offensive, derogatory, or name-calling remarks.
  • Submission: Participants may only submit one entry.
  • Attribution: The reel must include the participant's name(s).
  • Publication: Participants may grant permission for their work to be published on the competition's website, social media, or promotional materials.
  • Embargo: Submitted reels should not be posted until the results are announced.
  • Judging: The reel will be judged based on originality, Editing, creativity, clarity, relevance, and overall impact.

All participants must have a minimum BGMI level of 30.

Match Rules:
Standard BGMI esports mode will be followed.
Teams must join the lobby 5 minutes before the scheduled time.
Any form of cheating, hacking, or use of unauthorized software will lead to instant disqualification.
Device & Network:
Players must ensure they have a stable internet connection and a compatible device for smooth gameplay.
The organizers are not responsible for network or device issues during the match.
Fair Play & Conduct:
Toxic behavior, abusive language, or unsportsmanlike conduct will lead to penalties or disqualification.
Respect all participants, organizers, and referees.
Disputes & Decisions:
In case of any dispute, the organizers’ decision will be final.
Teams must cooperate with referees for fair gameplay and smooth event execution.

Rules and guidelines

1. The tournament will follow a Swiss System format , with participants playing a fixed number of games against opponents with a similar score.
2. The time control will be 10+2
3.  All the participants are required to bring their own chess board.
4. Participants will receive 1 point for a win , 0.5 for a draw and 0 points for a loss
5. If you touch a piece on the chessboard, you must move it.
6. Never hesitate to ask the arbiter to clarify any confusion you may have about the rules.
7. All the basic Chess rules will be followed.
8. If a participant make two illegal moves then the opponent will be given an immediate win .
9. In case of illegal move the participant must stop the clock and call the arbiter immediately.
10. Any player who does not enter the Playing Arena within 5 minutes after the last call will be given a Walk-Over.
11. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners
12. Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner
13. The coordinators reserve the right to make changes to the rules and  format of tournament as  deemed necessary.

RULES & GUIDELINES

Eligibility
  • Enrolled in any institution in India with Physics as one of the subjects.
  • Students currently enrolled in any year of their undergraduate or post-graduate are eligible.
  • Participants can register individually or as a team of upto 3 members.
  • Enrollment is only 45 rupees.
Paper Requirements
Participants can have presentation on their 1)research paper, 2)literature review, or 3)a new approach/idea in physics. The criteria for all the three are given below:
  • Research paper must be your original work in physics.
  • Literature review can be of any paper which you've done in the field of physics.
  • Presentation/proposal on a new approach/idea in physics should be well-reasoned and feasible, that is grounded in logical reasoning and aligns with established principles while offering a novel perspective or extension. The idea should not contradict with fundamental laws but can propose new interpretations, applications, or theoretical advancements that could be explored further. 
  • Any of the works should be plagiarism-free.
  • Papers must focus on a topic within the field of physics, which can be theoretical, experimental, or computational research.
  • Abstract of the work along with the presentation slides must be submitted to the email id: yn44none@gmail.com before 21/02/2026, 11:59 PM. Late submissions won't be accepted.
Presentation
  • Presentation will be conducted in offline mode only.
  • Participants can prepare slides and present it on the screen provided.
  • The medium of presentation can be English or Hindi or bilingual.
  • Each presentation will be limited to 10-12 minutes followed by 5 minutes Q&A session. 
  • Judging will be based on the motivation, depth & relevance of research, logical & technical clarity, way of explanation, originality of the research, and the performance in Q&A.

  • There will be two rounds, Elimination round followed by a Final round.

  • There will be a Time Penalty of 5-10 minutes whosoever caught violating rules or disregarding guidelines . (For The Whole Team).

Escape Room

Step into a world of puzzles, hidden clues, and mind-bending challenges. The Escape Room is an immersive team-based experience where participants must work together, think critically, and solve a series of interconnected riddles to escape the room within a fixed time limit.

This event tests your logic, teamwork, observation, and decision-making skills under pressure. Every second counts. Every clue matters.

📜 Event Rules & Guideline 
1️⃣ Time Limit

Participants will be given a fixed amount of time to solve the puzzles and escape the room. Failure to escape within the time limit will end the game.

2️⃣ Prohibited Items

Cell phones, smartwatches, and any outside tools must be switched off and stored away during the competition.

3️⃣ Disputes & Concerns

Any disputes, confusion, or concerns regarding the competition must be reported immediately to the organizers.

4️⃣ Scoring System

Scoring will be based on the time taken to escape.

  1. Penalties will be applied for taking hint
  2. Penalties will also apply for violating any rules
5️⃣ Team Size

Each team may consist of a maximum of 2 members only.

6️⃣ Photography & Recording

Photography, videography, or any form of recording inside the escape room is strictly prohibited, unless explicitly permitted by the organizers.

7️⃣ Media Consent

Participants agree to the use of their names, images, or likeness for promotional and publicity purposes related to the event.

Rangoli Competition 
Unleash your creativity and transform complex scientific theories into stunning visual masterpieces!!

Eligibility & Participation:
• Open to all college students .
• Can be solo or in a team of two members.
• Participants must bring their own colors and  necessary materials ( Stencils are not allowed).

Event Rules:

Theme: Future of Physics in Vibrant Hues 

• Participants will have 1.5 hours to complete their design.
• A designated area will be provided to each team.
• Designs must adhere to the theme.
• Participants may use mobile phones only to   view pre-saved reference images or color ideas.
• Internet browsing during the competition is not allowed.
• Phones must be kept on silent mode during the competition.

Evaluation Criteria:
• Relevance to the Theme.

Talent Hunt

Talent Hunt is a celebration of creativity and passion, providing a platform for participants to showcase their unique skills and abilities. The event encourages self-expression, confidence, and originality across diverse art forms.

Instructions:-

1) Talents may include singing, dancing, open mic, standup ,act , monologue, modeling etc.
2) Duration for singing and dancing:
Min-2:30 min
Max-3:30 min
Duration for standup:
Min-3 min
Max-5 min
3)Absolutely no profanity or insensitive subject matter will be permitted.
4) Costumes must be appropriate for all age groups. This is a community event.
5)Props, instruments etc. should be brought by the participants themselves.
6) Topic for standup comedy should be mentioned in advance .
7)Audio for the dance or any other performance must be arranged by the participants themselves and handed over to the control system before the event.
8) Prizes will be given to the first three placeholders decided by the jury members.
